The forecast for Lindsay + Keith’s Colorado spring wedding proved that Colorado weather sure can be unpredictable…
The original plan was to have the Colorado spring wedding ceremony outside on Wedgewood Black Forest’s patio, overlooking all the evergreen and spruce trees. The weeks leading up to their wedding, of course, the weather was showing a teenie bit of overcast, but nothing to write home about. And of course the week leading up to the wedding, all the flurries and chilly temps broke loose. The ‘big’ day had finally arrived, and guess what Colorado had in store for us? Basically a mini blizzard! Huzzah! Quite the opposite of Lindsay + Keith’s sweet fall engagement.
Here’s the amazing, rad, and totally awesome silver-lining to it all, though…
Lindsay + Keith COMPLETELY embraced the elements of their Colorado spring wedding day! Say what?! We had communicated throughout the whole planning process, and kept our fingers crossed to avail. And in the end, however, the weather didn’t matter. The fact that we did the ceremony inside didn’t matter. In fact, the only thing that mattered was that these sweet human beings made a commitment to each other. With their closest friends, family, and their long-haired Dachshund, Levi, they vowed to be there for each other for the rest of their lives. *Cue the goose pimples*
So, while the Colorado spring wedding ceremony couldn’t be held outside, you better bet your sweet booty that we still took advantage of the larger than life snowflakes and incredible dusting that occurred. The trees were something out of a mountain man’s dream. The sun peaked through the overcasting clouds in time for their romantics. Flying Phineas, our drone, proved to be one of the best decisions – ever (see snippet below!). Their colors of deep purple + lavender literally POPPED while we were outside. And wouldn’t ya know it? The snow stopped quite perfectly while we did all our outside portraits + filming. MEANT TO BE. Now go enjoy our fav captures! *Full video coming soon*
