How to Have the Perfect Broadmoor Wedding | Colorado Wedding Videographer

First, many components go into making a nearly perfect, breathtaking wedding day.

As your premier Colorado Wedding Videographer, and having filmed over a dozen weddings at The Broadmoor, documenting Russ & Dani’s June wedding was an example of intention, beauty, and collaboration. This Colorado Springs Broadmoor wedding was a mingling of vision, execution, and jaw dropping details with some of the best vendors in the Colorado wedding industry.

From this Colorado Wedding Videographer, here are a few of our favorite notes on the aesthetics of this perfect Broadmoor wedding…

While the day brought thundershowers and broken clouds, the Colorado sun shone in its gorgeous golden fashion for the couples’ romantic portraits after dinner service around the property. The bride got ready in the Lakeside Suites with its decadent wallpaper and timeless furnishings. The groom remained spiffy in the Broadmoor’s Pourtales Library with his handsome groomsmen and family members.

Dani’s gown was a stunning Anne Barge creation with sheer v-cuts under the arms on the sides of the bodice, delicate embroidered embellishments, and a low-cut back. The train’s length was a perfect combination of dazzling and tasteful. Dani wore grandmother’s Tiffany neckless, and the other timeless jewelry complimented her classy updo and striking smile.

Russell’s dark grey tuxedo with its simple black bowtie brought his clean-cut style to life as he complimented his newly named wife. He wore a sentimental watch that told the time of their ‘I do’s” as it added just the right amount of panache. Usually, when a partner does not garnish a boutonniere to compliment their suit, we think it lacks something. But for Russ, it actually made him stand out even more. He was distinguished, put together, and ready to meet his wife-to-be.

Russell and Dani chose not to engage in a first look with each other.

Instead, after they finished getting ready, and before guests arrived for the ceremony, separately they took wedding party photos and their respective family photos on the Lakeside Terrace of the Broadmoor. Dani had a first look with her dad that made us tear up behind the lens. As a Colorado Wedding Videographer, it is such a privilege to document these moments. The moment of Dani’s father see her for the first time on her wedding day is forever engraved. And the moment when Russell’s entourage hyped him up for their wedding party photos? Those shenanigans will never disappear. These moments will live on forever.

The ceremony for this perfect Broadmoor wedding was held in the main ball room

where the guests were seated in gold chiavari chairs. The room was surrounded by some of the most elegant and exquisite floral arrangements this Colorado Wedding Videographer has ever seen. Florals were curated by Cheri of Southern Charm based out of Penrose, Colorado, and boy oh boy, did she outdo herself. The aisle was strewn with perfectly handpicked arrangements in colors of peaches, creams, and the prettiest pale pinks. Delicate lavenders and soft greens elevated each arrangement to a level of luxury and tastefulness.

As the guests were finally seated, Russell made his entrance with his crew and anxiously awaited the appearance of betrothed. When everyone was ready, and this Colorado Wedding Videographer was set, the double doors opened to reveal Dani in all her glory. The energy was high and guests’ gazes were excitedly going back and forth between Dani and Russell. And this Colorado Wedding Videographer got capture it all. Dani’s elegance and beauty quite literally radiated throughout the ballroom’s space. And the way Russ looked at his bride walking down the aisle would make the grumpiest of men stand up straighter.

As a Colorado wedding videographer, some of our favorite snippets from their ceremony …

When the officiant said,

“Russ and Dani met my chance. But they’re here today because of a choice. They have chosen to be with someone who enhances them, who makes them think, who makes them smile. And who makes every day brighter. Things between You will never be quite the same. After today, you shall say to the world: This is my husband. This is my wife.”

Cue upbeat music and tears. Thanks John Legend.

“Marriage is living from a place of gratitude and mindfulness. It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner. Many years from now may you look at one another and be able to say…

With you I have lived the life I have always wanted to live.

With you I have become the person I have always longed to be.“

This is how you have a perfect Broadmoor wedding from a Colorado Springs Wedding Videographer.

Immediately following the ceremony, guests were ushered to the Broadmoor’s Pompeiian Hall for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while the couple finished up family portraits with Jacie, their incredibly talented photographer. While family portraits are happening, we snuck into the reception hall to film the awe-inspiring details. The flatware, floral arrangements, the crown-molding, and hand lit candles gave an ambiance you could only dream of.

Something unique happened for Russell and Dani …

They got to enjoy a reception room reveal before any of the guests entered. What a novel idea (that we absolutely love!). Our couples spend months, if not years, dreaming of this space. Working closely with their amazing planners and coordinators (like Jillian of SK Luxury Weddings and Events) to curate and assemble a space and ambiance that isn’t just pleasing to the eye, but pleasing to the heart and energy of your wedding or event. Needless to say, the execution of this vision was top tier gorgeous on gorgeous on gorgeous.

Once guests started entering the hall, we joined forces with Jacie again to capture the couple in their newlywed glow around the Broadmoor’s property. As a seasoned Colorado Wedding Videographer, our job is made easy when the couple is in love. We know what you’re thinking: “Why wouldn’t they be in love?” And, “Who gets married if they’re not in love?”. Trust us, it happens (enter little monkey emoji hiding his eyes here). With Russ & Dani, they way they regarded each other, the way they brushed lips, the way their eyes locked – it was undeniable how head over heels, absolutely, positively in love they were with each other. Isn’t that what this is all about??

The couple’s romantics had the dreamiest golden summer light…

A fresh sprinkle of rain dusted the earth, which only made the smell as heavenly as it looked. We wish, as a Colorado Springs Wedding Videographer, we could bottle up those heavenly scents and hand deliver them along with our cinematic highlight films. But alas, memory will have to do.

Golden backlighting.

A soft summer breeze.

The mountains in the background.

And love emanating from the new Mr & Mrs.

The couple’s entrance into their reception party set the energy high and ready to celebrate these two love birds. Dani’s father welcomed the new couple with some beautifully touching words:

“Dani, you are, and you have always been a joy to me. I am so proud of you. Russ, Thank you for your kindness to Dani. Thank you for making a home with her. Thank you for supporting her and sharing your life with her. So, you two, take care of each other. Enjoy each other‘s victories and console each other in your defeats. So let us all raise a glass and toast to Russ and Dani as they embark on their life together.

Congratulations!”

This Colorado Wedding Videographer got to see the night pop off without any worries or troubles.

Just laughing, dancing, merriment, good vibes, and celebration. Instead of separate special parent dances, Dani and Russ decided to mix it up a little bit. They did a joint parent dance, which we think is such a wonderful way to honor your parents while keeping your guests engaged. While separate parent dances are traditional and lovely, there is something special in coming together as two families to share this parent dance together. Dani got to dance with her dad in the same moment Russell got to dance with his mom. They all danced to Stevie Wonder’s ‘You Are the Sunshine of My Life’. No better song to dance to.

The dance floor stayed packed all night long, thanks to Soul X’s mastery in entertainment. To the point that the bride and groom escaped to change their attire, that when they got back to the dance floor, there was barely any room for them to reveal their sweet new styles. Russ in his dapper white suit, and Dani in her shorty, flirty ostrich feathered dress, danced the night away with their closest friends and family.

To complete the celebration

this Colorado Wedding Videographer captured Russell and Dani making their grand escape cold sparks box fireworks. Russ & Dani’s wedding day reflected who they are in every word, every detail, every guest. Their care and collaboration made their day unforgettable.

We wouldn’t have been able to have such a lovely day without the stellar team of vendors. Check them all out below.

Can’t wait for the next epic celebration!
