While it may seem like getting hired for a wedding 6 weeks before the date is cutting it a liiiiittle close, it’s really not for an Estes Park elopement. Every detail for Kelly and Jason’s intimate Estes Park Elopement came together just as it was meant to for this Colorado elopement videographer and photographer.
Most of our weddings are on the more ‘traditional’ side of things: 3+ bridesmaids and 3+ groomsmen, aaaaallllll the details, First Look, a beautiful church or venue, Family Photos, Grand Entrance, First Dances, and then partaaaaay with friends and family!!Kelly & Jason’s intimate Estes Park elopement was literally the exact opposite. AND IT WAS AMAZING.
Hear ye – however! I am in no way knocking those wonderfully-fantastical-more ‘traditional’ weddings! We love them, and we love the people that choose to go that route. And just like pretty much anything in life – it will always be nice to go down the road less traveled. And this road was a beaut <3
The Romantic RiverSong Bed & Breakfast
was our destination for our Estes Park elopement, and our Arizona based couple. When Michael and I arrived in Estes Park, this Colorado elopement videographer had a little time to kill. We walked up and down the main drag, got some delicious pizza (or ‘Zaa’ as Ben Wyatt form Park & Rec would say), and after that, we headed to the B&B which was just 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Estes Park.
Romantic RiverSong was so quaint, stunning, and… quiet! It felt so strange being at our venue and ceremony location, but we didn’t have to capture any prep… No hair curling, no tying of the tie, no last minute touchups. It was amazing for this Colorado elopement videographer and photographer, quite honestly.
Upon meeting each other for the first time, hugs and gushes of excitement were our forms of exchange. You could tell they were R.E.A.D.Y!We went over a few details and things to see, and then – it was nuptials time! We all walked down to the ceremony site together: a gorgeous arch right in front of the stream running through the B&B. Tammy, one of the fabulous innkeeper’s, had the honor of marrying Jason & Kelly.
It was just us five people in this sacred space.
Kelly, Jason, Tammy, Michael, and me. That’s it for this Estes Park elopement. It was so intimate and special, something I can’t stress enough. Something we will never forget. They exchanged their personal vows, placed those rings on each other, and after being together for 8 years, they began their journey as husband and wife. What followed was a sweet cake cutting and simple champagne toast, in addition to a few well deserved tears. They even offered us some of their cake and champagne – how stinkin’ sweet! I couldn’t say no. I mean who could?!
After that, we ventured around the B&B, and into Rocky Mountain Nation Park for our Bride & Groom portraits. It was all pure magic. As a Colorado elopement videographer, we couldn’t get over how humbling it was that they chose us to be a part of such a special occasion. It was like we were hanging out with a couple of friends as we drove around finding the perfect locations for photos and filming. As we finished up, we departed with hugs and too many ‘Thank You’s’ to count. We also left with two new friends *queue the ‘Awwwhh’*
I hope we never forget how incredibly incredible and special it is to do what we do.
